Functionalities
1. Smart SMTP Relay
SMTP Relay means sending mail to third party domain via smtp server. Due to spammer also use open smtp relay service to send bulk unsolicited mails, a secure smtp service needs to verify user identity to grant relay permission.
Smart SMTP Relay is to grant relay permission by checking new mail via POP server.
It is easy to setup Smart SMTP Relay in RaidenMAILD. Just go to [Server settings], enable these options [Enable SMTP Relay] and [Enable IP restriction] and leave the [IP Allow List] empty. With above setting, user could use SMTP server to send mail to other domain after checking new mail via POP server. This is also called POP before SMTP in other mail softwares.
2. IP Restriction
You can edit [IP Allow List] and [IP/Domain Deny List] to determine which IP is able to use SMTP relay and which IP/Domain is unable to connect to your SMTP service.
3. Subject, Content, Attachment Filter and supports PCRE
Subject filter is to filter those unwelcome mail subject. You just need to input the keywords to list to filter mails.
Content filter is to filter those unwelcome mail RAW content. You just need to input characteristic to list to determine which kind of mail is unwelcome. It supports PCRE criteria to do characteristic filtering.
Attachment filter is to filter those mail which attached unwelcome files such as .bat, .exe, .com, .pif, .vbs...etc.
Any suspicious mail will follow the mail rule to delete immediately or mark warning string in subject or move the mail to another mailbox/unsolicited folder..etc.
4. Mailbox quota
Admin can define user's mailbox quota to store his mails.
5. Multi Domains to Single IP Address
You can define more than one domain in mail server and create an account to mapping to these domain to be user email addresses.
6. System Service
You can setup RaidenMAILD Service to start RaidenMAILD mail server. The service will monitor raidenmaild process to keep it alive and the health monitor will also test SMTP service by itself. Any abnormal result will make the service to restart raidenmaild mail server to make sure the mail service always working.
7. Resend mechanism
RaidenMAILD mail server will queue those mails which are unable to deliver and continue to retry them till the retry count reaches limiation.
8. SMTP and POP3 setup
Administrator could determine many rules to let users obey.
For example: maximum mail size for each mail, maximum recipients user can send for each mail, maximum transmission speed user can use,...etc.
9. Event log
RaidenMAILD mail server provides several log types. Such as detail log, command log, debug log(suspicious command), statistics log for chart drawing.
10. Web Remote Control
You can connect to remote control center via browser. In the control center, you can start server / stop server / restart server / add user / delete user / modify user / change server main settings ...etc.
11. Multilingual Webmail
You can connect to webmail via browser to read / write mail.
12. Dynamic IP Address assignment
Server will bind new IP Addresses if the server IP Addresses have been changed.
13. Web Mail templates
There are many templates to customize for webmail or specific functionalities content description.
14. Mail footer / header addon message
You can determine the addon message to mail footer / header while mail in / out..
15. Auto-Reply
Auto reply lets user to reply a message to sender when he got mail. This feature is useful for those users are not on duty / out of office / during vacation.
16. Auto forward
Auto forward could forward the same mail to other mailbox when user got mail.
17. Backup incoming / outgoing mail
You can determine an alternative mailbox to backup user's incoming mails or all outgoing mail via this server.
18. Event Processor
RaidenMAILD can trigger event to execute external scripts (or program) to process incoming mail file, such as spamassassin or virus scanning.
19. Memory optimization
RaidenMAILD could optimize the system memory frequently just like RAM IDLE.
20. Webmail multilingual description
The description on webmail is free to customized.
21. Server Relay
Server relay helps you to send mail to specific smtp server(depend on smtp routing table), more than that, it also helps you to integrate anti-virus gateway software with your mail system.. ( Tutorial)
22. Mass mail sending
RaidenMAILD mail server can automatically devide large recipients mail into several small parts and send them simultaneously.
23. SMTP Authentication
User can enable his "My server needs authentication" in mail client (ex: outlook express, outlook, thunderbird...etc) to relay mail to third party domain via mail server.
24. SMTP / POP3 SSL
With POP3 SSL (955 port) & SMTP SSL (465 port), user could transmit the data with server in security channel.
25. MultiPOP
User could receive his external POP mailbox and store these mails to his local mailbox folders on server.
26. ICQ / MSN Service Center
User could read mail / delete mail via ICQ / MSN, even user could receive new mail notification via ICQ/ MSN.
27. Online registration
Visitors could apply new account and coonfirmed by administrator.
28. Active Directory integrated ( Authentication )
Administrator could port account info from Active Directory Server to mail account, the account could be authenticated with AD.
29. Anti-Spam
There are various anti-spam mechanisms provided by RaidenMAILD mail server, including RBL checking, Reverse checking, SPF checking, PTR checking, Interactive Sender Verification, even administrator could integrate spamassassin as external scripting method.
30. Database support
User data could be stored in text file or database.
31. Dual SMTP services
Dual SMTP services could integrate various smtp gateway softwares to be more solid system for anti-spam or anti-virus issue.
32. Alias email
Administrator could add alias email to map to user mailbox.
33. Daily spam mail report
The external program - spamlistmaker.exe could generate a report to collect all mails which are in user's unsolicited folder and then user could move or delete these mails via the report mail.
34. Firewall lite (for 2000/XP)
RaidenMAILD mail server provides a firewall lite using IP filtering technology which is accounced in windows 2000 and latest OS.
35. Malicious IP Collector
The collector will record every IP's malicious actions and add these malicious IP Address to IP Deny List or Firewall..etc automatically.
